Burlesque? Not that much. Unusual, for sure!
The idea came from Thierry Le Pivert, a parisian born but mountainous in his soul for more than 20 years. Accompanied by Suzanne Bahls, a Berlin stylist who also lives in Les Arcs, the two complement each other to offer old chairlifts a new life in a different setting: from outdoor elements, singular pieces of the landscape of our winter sports resorts, they move on to “interior and exterior” art & deco pieces.
Thierry finds and restores, Suzanne draws, sews and dresses. These two mountain lovers met around the passion of transformation, recycling, creation.
They are committed to preserving the heritage of our mountains so that all these objects are not only immortalized in pictures but still live among us. These two-seater chairlifts are the witnesses of the “30 Glorieuses du ski” and the development of our winter sports resorts from the 50s to the present day.
They work in pairs to divert objects from their primary purpose and give them a second life. This is how Alpinesofa was born!
Our collections revolve around old ski lifts bought in the resorts and bear the name of it and their year of operation (example: Gollet 68, Covetan 79, Les Boisses 62 …..)
All our collections are composed of 20 or 40 unique and numbered pieces.
We offer different finishes on frames: Original, Polished or Painted.
The cushions are also available in many forms and in a wide range of fabrics for both indoors and outdoors. We can also use your own fabric.
